Pet Proofing Your Home

Pet Proofing Your Home

As a devoted pet owner, you understand the joys and challenges that come with sharing your home with furry companions. From their wagging tails to their unconditional love, pets truly enrich our lives. However, their presence also calls for some adjustments to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for both them and us. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explore effective strategies for pet-proofing your property, covering everything from indoor considerations to outdoor cleanliness. We’ll also touch upon the value of maintaining a clean outdoor space with Swoop Scoop, a trusted name in pet waste removal.

Indoor Pet-Proofing:

  1. Secure Your Garage: Begin your pet-proofing journey by ensuring the security of your garage area. Garage doors can pose risks to curious pets. Properly maintaining your garage doors is essential for your pets’ safety and your peace of mind.
  2. Choose Pet-Friendly Flooring: Opt for flooring materials that are durable and easy to clean. Pet accidents and scratches can take a toll on floors, so consider pet-friendly options that are both stylish and resilient.
  3. Provide Safe Spaces: Create designated pet-friendly areas within your home. Establish a cozy corner where your pets can retreat when they need some peace and quiet, making them feel secure and at ease.

Outdoor Pet-Proofing:

  1. Maintain a Clean and Safe Yard with Swoop Scoop: A clean outdoor space is crucial for both your pets’ well-being and your family’s enjoyment. Swoop Scoop’s pet waste removal services ensure that your yard remains hygienic and free from waste, promoting a healthy environment for everyone.
  2. Fence and Gate Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain your yard’s fencing and gates to prevent pets from wandering off and potential dangers from entering the premises.
  3. Choose Pet-Safe Plants: Opt for landscaping plants that are non-toxic to pets. Research pet-friendly options to create a vibrant garden without risking your furry friends’ health.

In the journey of creating a pet-friendly home, there’s no shortage of strategies to ensure both indoor safety and outdoor cleanliness. By properly securing your garage doors and taking advantage of Swoop Scoop’s pet waste removal services, you can implement these strategies with confidence. From maintaining a waste-free yard to providing safe indoor spaces, this approach creates a harmonious living space that caters to the needs of both your family and your furry friends. How do you ensure the safety of my dogs?

The safety of our clients and their dogs is a top priority at Swoop Scoop®. To ensure all dogs are safe, we clean all our equipment and shoes between each yard with a kennel-grade disinfectant to prevent the spread of germs. We also take gate pictures when we are done cleaning so you know your pets won’t get out of the yard, and we ensure all our employees are background checked.

How much does it cost to hire a professional pooper scooper?

Swoop Scoop® has pooper scooper service plans starting as low as $60 per month. However, pricing is based on the size of the yard, service frequency, and number of dogs. Most of our clients end up paying between $95 and $135 per month.

How do you dispose of the pet waste after each cleanup?

Proper disposal is essential to environmental safety as dog poop is considered a hazardous material. Each location is slightly different. In Spokane and North Idaho, we will take the waste off your property and properly dispose of it with Waste Management. In Seattle, Everett, and Tacoma, we will double bag the waste and place it in each customer’s trash can or neatly on the side of their house.

Can you clean with my dog in the yard?

Yes, we love cleaning with dogs! We simply ask that if your dog has shown signs of aggression, you leave them inside during your cleaning. Ensuring the safety of our team is a top priority. If your dog is aggressive towards our team, you will be asked to put them inside or be completely removed from our route.

Can I request a specific cleanup day?

Yes, you can request a specific cleanup day. Not every cleanup day will be available in your area, but because of our size, we can generally offer 2-3 options to best fit your schedule.

Do you provide arrival windows for services?

No, we don’t provide arrival times for our pooper scooper services. While we will do our best to accommodate your schedule, we optimize our routes for drive time at midnight the day before services are completed to help keep costs low.
